Has the GOP lost its way?

For decades, one of our most widely shared tenets of conservatism was fiscal restraint, reining in government spending, and cutting the deficit. Leaving our children and grandchildren with mountains of debt was blatantly irresponsible and we would not let it happen on our watch.
But the recent announcement from the Treasury Department about our record deficit has me wondering: Have we lost our way?
Paul Ryan was the one of our most righteous warriors for a balanced budget and yet he’s leaving Congress with a troubling legacy: a $779 billion deficit, up 17% from last year. Our national debt is barreling towards $22 trillion. TRILLION!
Is this the “path to prosperity” Ryan promised? I’m not sure.
Here’s Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell completely refusing to take responsibility for our runaway debt:

“It’s disappointing, but it’s not a Republican problem.”

Is it time for a return to true conservative principles?

Will Robert Mueller drop a post-election bomb?

We may not have seen Bob Mueller in the news recently, but reports have surfaced that he’s hard at work on his witch hunt of President Trump and members of his circle. Potential findings could be announced right after the election.

Bloomberg.com reported:

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is expected to issue findings on core aspects of his Russia probe soon after the November midterm elections as he faces intensifying pressure to produce more indictments or shut down his investigation, according to two U.S. officials.

Specifically, Mueller is close to rendering judgment on two of the most explosive aspects of his inquiry: whether there were clear incidents of collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, and whether the president took any actions that constitute obstruction of justice, according to one of the officials, who asked not to be identified speaking about the investigation.

Let’s take these one at a time.

“Collusion” could mean anything. Did anyone on the Trump team, including an intern or a custodian, happen to email or meet a Russian official at any level of the government? Does Trump have business deals with Russians? Has he ever shaken a Russian’s hand? It’s ridiculous.

And as for obstruction of justice—like firing FBI Director Comey or trying to shut down the investigation of Michael Flynn—that’s called doing your job.

Whatever Mueller’s report surfaces, it should be the final chapter of a fruitless witch hunt for a man who just happens to be close friends with Vladimir Putin. You can’t fault a man for having friends.

Melania to lamestream media: “I don’t care!”

The internet was abuzz with reaction when First Lady Melania Trump wore a controversial jacket to the U.S.-Mexico border back in June. In the midst of leftwing hand-wringing over “family separations,” Melania arrived wearing an army green jacket emblazoned with the words: “I really don’t care. Do U?”
The resulting media circus was somewhat put to rest by her Stephanie Grisham, the first lady’s spokesperson, who at the time said:

“It’s a jacket. There was no hidden message.”

Or was there?
Late last week, ABC News aired a recent interview with Melania Trump, in which she changes her tune, saying she wore the jacket:

“…for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me. And I want to show them that I don’t care.”

Every time the left-wing media writes Melania off, she shows them that she’s one step ahead!

Facebook’s latest attempt to silence conservative voices

Last week, hundreds of alternative media sites were abruptly shut down on the two biggest social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter.
Facebook and Twitter, in what appears to be a collusive censorship effort, disabled hundreds of entirely legitimate sites. The crackdown has prompted outrage, as many conservative commentators (and even some on the left) claim that this is an attempt to silence dissident voices as the U.S. midterm elections draw closer.
Only a small fraction of the sites caught up in the sweep appear to be fraudulent, such as those that uses bots to generate ad revenue. Many of the sites that were shut down or disabled are simply pages and outlets providing coverage and commentary that the so-called “mainstream media” is all too happy to overlook.
In many cases, organizational pages were suspended without warning and individual editors, writers, and other staff were stripped of their personal Twitter and Facebook access.
The far-left freak-out over “fake news” has paved the way for these very troubling repercussions.

Those of us who provide legitimate conservative news and analysis are getting unfairly lumped in with a few bad apples and it needs to stop.

The richest self-made woman in America is a GOP donor

Have you ever heard of Diane Hendricks?

She’s America’s richest self-made woman. She started a roofing supply company with her husband, Ken Hendricks, in 1982. Since Ken’s death in 2007, she’s been leading the company that is now worth an estimated $6 billion.

Diane is a local philanthropist, a film producer, and a major backer of Republican candidates and leaders, including Gov. Scott Walker in her home state of Wisconsin.
Despite all that, you’ve probably never heard of her until today. The “mainstream media” loves to cover the stories of self-made millionaires when they’re rallying behind Obama and Hillary. But when it’s someone backing the GOP? They’re overlooked or even vilified.

Get to know more about Diane Hendricks.

Melania Trump: Underappreciated icon

Melania Trump is in Africa, touring four countries there on her first solo trip as First Lady, promoting child welfare and meeting with dignitaries.

But despite the momentous occasion, there’s barely a hint of coverage in the so-called mainstream media.

Remember the constantly fawning coverage of Michelle Obama when she was the First Lady?

In case you needed more evidence of left-wing bias in our media, here you go!

Showdown: Michael Moore vs. Dinesh D’Souza

Dinesh D’Souza is a major figure of the conservative movement, dubbed by the left-wing publication Vox as “America’s greatest conservative troll.”

D’Souza is a writer and filmmaker whose film, “2016: Obama’s America,” chronicling how Barack Obama came to hold his far-left views, was a sleeper hit. It broke records and overtook Hollywood major motion films when it was released at the box office.

In fact, 2016: Obama’s America is the fifth-best performing documentary at the box office, ever. It grossed $33 million during its theatrical run, outperforming hyper-leftist documentary filmmaker Michael Moore’s “Sicko.” In terms of political documentaries, the only film to ever perform better than “2016: Obama’s America” was “Fahrenheit 9/11,” also from Michael Moore.

Now, “Fahrenheit 9/11” has proved to be a high-water mark for Moore. It seems that any appetite Americans had for his liberal garage has evaporated.

Moore’s latest release, “Fahrenheit 11/9,” opened to a little over $3 million in 1,719 theaters. That’s just an average of 200 people per theater seeing this film, all opening weekend long, and that’s despite saturating the airwaves with interviews all over the so-called mainstream media.

Meanwhile, D’Souza has an new film, “Death of a Nation,” which was recently released. Donald Trump Jr. hosted the film’s Washington, D.C. premiere and shared the trailer with his Twitter followers. But since D’Souza has been unfairly maligned in the press, the film just didn’t get the attention it deserved.

Thankfully, Moore’s socialist hand-wringing seem to have lost any hint of luster, so at least there’s some justice.

Now, to grab some copies of D’Souza’s “Death of a Nation” and get started early on Christmas shopping!

Disgraced Jim Comey Comes to the FBI’s Defense

James Comey, the disgraced former head of the FBI, just can’t quit. Despite his total lack of credibility, the failing New York Times publish an op-ed from Comey, where he touts the ability of the men and women of the FBI to uncover the facts about the sexual assault allegations against Trump’s nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
According to the White House, the FBI has one week to conduct an investigation before the Senate votes on Kavanaugh’s nomination (a timeline which Comey calls “idiotic”).  Still, Comey thinks that despite the aggressive timeline, the FBI should be able to “figure out what’s true.”

This piece reads like yet another effort from holier-than-thou Comey to redeem himself, restore his reputation, and stay relevant after his fall from grace. Comey may be a tool for the Democrats, but the investigation could do just the opposite of what he seems to suggest.

After all, President Trump said that he wants the FBI to conduct a “comprehensive” investigation and he’s not bothered by them talking to the accusers. It seems most likely the investigation clears the name of a good man and Kavanaugh’s nomination sails through the Senate, despite the relentless efforts to detail his confirmation. Kavanaugh on the court will fundamentally transforming the Supreme Court with true conservative values.

Here’s hoping.
